I’m so excited to share the details of little Miss June Parker’s nursery with you all today. It only took five months to finish, but I feel like that’s fitting since June is our fifth child! I had so much fun pulling together a beautiful, calm, gender-neutral nursery with natural wood elements for this room. I did the majority of the decorating before June arrived and we knew she was a girl, so almost everything in her room was gender neutral, and I just added some pops of a rose pink color once she came to make it more feminine.
Also, since we are a military family and usually rent our homes (this house included), I always try to make my kids’ rooms portable rather than permanent. Meaning the decor I choose could work in any room, no matter where we live. I did have fun partnering with The Lovely Wall Co. for June’s accent wall, though, and absolutely love their removable Boho Rainbow wall decals in Rosy for a show-stopper of femininity and fun behind her crib. The decals were super easy to put on and I love that they won’t damage the walls if we have to take them down to move. Who actually has time to repaint or fix holes in the midst of a move anyways?! These decals are a great option to add that wow-factor without having to spend a ton of money on wall paper, too. I’m in love with how they brought the whole room together!

Speaking of bringing the room together, we painted the walls with Alabaster from the Home Depot and it’s now officially my favorite white! My sweet friend Maralle came over one afternoon while our girls were at school and we got the whole room done in two hours…then I loved it so much I wanted to paint our guest bathroom with it, too! It’s hard to stop once you get a pregnant woman redecorating.
Once we had the white walls done, I knew we’d be reusing the Basset Ava Crib in gray (similar), white IKEA Hemnes dresser, as well as the Gray Glider Chair from Target (similar) that we had for the other kids for this room. We chose to reuse furniture not only because they’re all still in amazing condition, but also to help stay on budget. With five kiddos, I’m all about design on a dime when I can be! I like them to each have their own space that I’ve put a lot of thought and love into, but also know that doesn’t have to mean splurging on every aspect of the room. Also, saving the money on the furniture allowed me to buy some of the accent pieces from small shops and creators, which is always my preference when I can!

On top of the dresser I opted for the Skip Hop Wipe Clean rubber changing pad rather than a traditional one with a fabric cover. I like that I can just wipe it down and that it doesn’t slide on top of the dresser. The only other things I like to have on top of the dresser is something to hold our Hello Bello diapers and wipes (did you know the generously give a 20% military discount?!), and the Hatch Rest+ sound machine and night light that we use in all our kids’ rooms every.single.night! Highly recommend getting a Hatch+ if you’re having a baby anytime soon. To finish off that section, I ordered the circular wood mirror and Cloud Island Llama print from Target and the natural wood boho rainbow wall art from the Raw Cut on Etsy.

Above the crib we were gifted the most beautiful House of Rounds wooden script name sign for June from our dear friends. I knew immediately it had to be a focal point for the nursery and just love how it turned out! I’ve used House of Rounds for a project before and am always so impressed with the quality for the price. And of course the Lovely Wall Co. Boho Rainbow decals really pull the room together. I also added a Baby Jives Co. Cloud mobile above the crib. It’s so whimsical and pretty, I’ve had them in all of my kids’ rooms.
Speaking of rooms, the one we use for a nursery at our home is pretty small, so we have to maximize the space as much as we can. I found these wooden wall-mount book shelves on Etsy and love how they are functional, but also look pretty displaying some of our favorite kiddo’s books and a couple of the beautiful maternity pictures Deena Cormier Photography took for me.

On the windows I bought Target white ruffle Blackout curtains and just strung up a ribbon bunting I had from my older girls’ room that they weren’t using anymore.

In the final section of the room I mounted this adorable LED neon rainbow light I found at Target and setup my rocking chair and a marble side table (Similar). This is the perfect spot for night time nursing and the rainbow light actually provides a nice warm glow so I can see what I’m doing! I put a basket under the side table and filled it with Bannor Toy Co.’s wooden alphabet and number blocks. We got those for Bennett four years ago for his first Christmas and they are the most incredible quality. I have no doubt we will be handing them on to our grandchildren someday! I also draped a quilt made by June’s Nana over the chair and love the pop of color it adds, too.
I tried really hard to make a point to buy a lot of the accent items in this nursery from small businesses rather than big retailers this time around. June was born during a global pandemic when so many people are out of work, so I wanted to buy directly from the makers and support small business. Some of my favorite accents include the custom embroidery and felt name hoop on the door with June’s name and purple felt flowers (just like that Jacarandas that were blooming when June was born!) from Miss Tweedle Crafts. She has made one for each of my kids over the years and they are some of my absolute favorite things in their rooms!

I was also gifted the most adorable Welcome Home Baby June sign from my insanely talented friend Mollie Marigold and I love that it will be something we can keep forever and remember her first days in our family.

Those are just some of the highlights from this sweet nursery for our final baby. I had a blast pulling it together and hope you love it as much as I do!
