Lucy LOVES red and wanted to make red slime for her classroom Valentine’s this year. I, of course had to oblige, because I already had a great slime recipe and knew this was one we could make affordably! Total cost for 25 Valentines was around $12 and could definitely be less depending on the “mix-ins” you decide to put in the slime. And as always, there’s a free printable label at the bottom of the post for you to use on your own Valentine’s!
Here’s what we used:

Slime Recipe: (for 25-30 small slime containers)
- 4 Cups (32 ozs) Glue (I had leftover clear glue we mixed with white glue and red sparkly glue)
- 3 TBS Baking Soda
- 1/4 Cup Contact Solution (make sure it has boric acid and sodium borate like this one)
- Extra contact solution on hand
- Mix-Ins! We used these small mirrored hearts and lots of glitter!
- Squirt of hand sanitizer for scent (optional)
- Printable Sticker Paper for Labels
- Circular containers with lids from Dollar Tree
Directions:
- Pour all your glue into a mixing bowl.
- Add baking soda and mix until combined.
- Add contact solution and mix well. You should see the slime forming, which can take a lot of mixing!
- Add your choice of “mix-ins” and stir until combined.
- If slime is sticking to the walls of the bowl, add contact solution and additional tablespoon at a time and mix well. Your slime is finished when it no longer sticks to the edge of your bowl or your hands when you reach in to kneed it…this may take up to an additional 1/4 cup of contact solution and a lot of mixing!
Once you’ve made your slime, separate it into the circular containers and add your labels, and you’re done! This was such a fun activity to complete with Lucy. I hope your kiddos love them as much as Lucy and her classmates do!

And of course I can’t forget the free printable label! I printed these on sticker paper and then used my Cricut to cut them out in 2×2 inch size. I left a blank space for your kiddo’s to sign their own name. Enjoy!
